REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE, THE KINGDOM OF THAILAND AND THE
SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIET NAM
AND
THE GOVERNMENTS OF AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND AS
PARTIES
TO THE AUSTRALIA-NEW ZEALAND CLOSER ECONOMIC
RELATIONS
(CER) TRADE AGREEMENT
TO INCLUDE
THE KINGDOM OF CAMBODIA, LAO PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC
REPUBLIC AND UNION OF MYANMAR



WHEREAS the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the Union of Myanmar became Member States of ASEAN on 23 July 1997, and have agreed to subscribe or accede, as the case may be, to all Declarations, Treaties and Agreements of ASEAN;

WHEREAS the Kingdom of Cambodia became a Member State of ASEAN on 30 April 1999, and has agreed to subscribe or accede, as the case may be, to all Declarations, Treaties and Agreement of ASEAN;

WHEREAS Article 10 of the Memorandum of Understanding Concerning Cooperation on Standards and Conformance between ASEAN and the CER Countries (hereinafter referred to as MOU) signed in Jakarta in September 1996 provides that the MOU may be extended to include additional signatories according to the procedures to be mutually determined by the Parties;

HAVING REGARD to the results of the consultations directed towards the extension of the MOU to include the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the Union of Myanmar to the MOU;

NOW THEREFORE the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the Union of Myanmar hereby become signatories to the Memorandum of Understanding Concerning Cooperation on Standards and Conformance;

DONE at Singapore on this First day of October in the Year One Thousand Nine Hundred and Ninety-Nine.
